Nice cutty

Fishing was really good for those warm days we had last week. We don't get epic hatches on the N. Umpqua, but the stones and salmon flies do get the fish wound up and throwing caution to the wind. I think they're mostly gorging on the bugs that are migrating to shore cuz there's not a lot of rise activity, but they're more than willing to come to the surface. I caught most of my fish on a steady skate. Other times I'll bounce the fly upstream, trying to imitate a female laying eggs, then feed about 10ft of line to imitate the female dying... those takes are epic but you miss a lot of fish with slack line. Interesting enough I did not get a single strike on a dead drift.
