NFR NFL 2023 Season

Non-fishing related
With 32 teams having started 70 different QB's this season so far because of injury or performance, having a reasonably competent back-up QB is essential to a good season, much less making the playoffs.
Niners were hella smart to pick up Sam Darnold even if it's just for this season, and smart for him to join the Niners and get some of the best QB coaching in the game.
With proper coaching and the right fit, lot of those first round 'busts' can go on to have lucrative careers as a number two. Mariota an example, making 5M this year.

Honestly, wouldn't mind seeing Denver end up with him. Caleb and Drake will be long gone....I like Penix more than who's left. But I've also seen more of him than say, Jayden Daniels.

I'm sure there will be a few teams who are petrified by his injury history and pass on him based on that alone.

I do not know if Pennix will make it. I am not a pro scout. His footwork looks awful. He is like 35 years old.

I will say though he throws some remarkable balls. I have not seen a player throw the deep ball like that since Jeff Blake.

I thought his pocket presence was okay
Plus he has a really quick release and downfield accuracy
I guess I just don’t see the other side

Well, there's a reason why half (or more) 1st round QBs fail. Even the actual NFL scouts, who actually DO watch all of the tape on the players, can't agree on these guys.

agreed that his footwork needs work (based on my remedial--at best--scouting) though.

I do really like how he moves and what I see with his accuracy, then again it's easy to say that when some of these guys are throwing to windows that are quite large combined with incredible receivers.

Shoot, watching the game the other night my 16 year old daughter yelled "dime!" when he made one throw, followed by "and he threw that off his back foot."

He is super entertaining. Damn, he is fun to watch. I don't know how he does it with that footwork though.

Wherever he ends up, I don't look forward to the Seahawks having to play against Penix.

It must KILL you to see purdy up there next to Stafford? I mean when you want someone to fail so bad and then they go ahead and do something like this.
You're funny. Nobody takes the Pro Bowl seriously.
