Qb and coach means everything…look at the Jags first season, and where they are now…ditto with Denver. If Herbert ever gets a decent coach, the Bolts will be good as well…

Seems like the Seahawks and Patriots need to swap.
Patriots need Pete to build up a solid roster.
Seahawks need Bill to actually game plan for the personnel.
Mac Jones seems to be turning the corner... to the netherworld.

At least the Pats are not the Jets. They do look a lot like the standard Jets team right now. Hopefully they do not get stuck in the Jets pattern of changing coaches and QB's every 2-3 years. Three OC's in 3 years is a way to break a QB. If you start cycling through HC's you break the whole team like the Jets for the last 25 years.
The Patriots are just plain bad offensively. It's a basic lack of pass catching talent and having a broken QB. If Jones just valued the ball more they could have 5 or 6 wins due to the defense. In games that he has not thrown an int they are undefeated (2). In games that he throws a pic (9), they are winless. Jones has lost 4 games by just being careless with the ball including the last 2.
They also have 0 non-offensive touchdowns. They had a bunch last year, like 8 or so. Injuries are a factor with the lack of ST and defensive scores, but every team has injuries at some point.
It could be worse. I could be a Jets fan.

Could say that about this whole season. Just has not been as good of a product this year. Sloppy football, terrible reffing, bad coaching, etc etc

Much like the QBs, there seems to be a generational change of coaches too.
Not to pile on but as a Niner fan I watch other games and just don't see much creativity. When the Bears rana bubble screen tonight there were 3 guys standing there to tackle him. Bad scheme....
Its also embarrassing to watch RBs and WRs just run out of bounds like a QB when there is 1 dude between them and the end zone. For better(YAC in huge amounts) or worse(lots of guys getting hurt) the Niners always look to put a hit on the defender and get more yards. It for sure wears teams down.

Business decisions. Smaller dudes like Tyler Lockett do this all the time. It's about self preservation... Sacrifice that extra yard and be available for the next play vs having to go out and recoup or worse lose time to injury.
Anyone remember when the king of running out of bounds, Shaun Alexander criticized Holmgren’s play calling after he lost the season rushing title by one yard to Curtis Martin?
He had plenty of opportunities during a 16 game schedule to get that yard or more.
