For a coach who emphasizes the importance of a good running game, he’s not really prioritizing it. 13 carries for your two top backs? Long developing pass plays against that rush? I didn’t see the whole game but watched a significant amount. How many screen passes did we run today? How many smoke/tunnel screens? And Geno has to have a better internal pocket clock especially against that rush. Not sure Waldron did the 0’ any favors today. But also one of those east coast trips where everyone overdosed on melatonin on the plane ride over and never recovered.
Yeah the play calling the last four or so games has been baffling. Just constantly dialing up these long developing routes that never have a chance. Yet they keep doing it every single game. It's not going to work with this o line. Same way running it between the tackles from shotgun isn't going to work.

agreed.. I'm also baffled why Geno doesn't get outside the tackles when the pocket collapses? He's not exactly Mahomes but can throw on the run and isn't terrible when he tucks it in and runs. The 5 step drop, OMG they're killing me, take 2 steps forward makes him a sitting duck. Is he being coached not to stretch out laterally because of the patch-work oline?

Not sure. He's done those things plenty of times before. He's playing scared though. He's in panic mode on just about every pass play.

Big win for the Bengals tonight over the Bills. Joe Burrow has been lighting it up since his injured calf healed. Awesome QB play!

Hawk's sucked on bith sides today, and Geno's turnovers continues. I'll say it again, its time for a change, new QB or a new coach!

If a new coach is needed, your gonna
need a new QB anyways!

Serious question: Do you only watch the QB? We both agree Geno is not playing well, but if you think it's because "he sucks," then you aren't watching the rest of what's going on around him.

Saying we need a new QB is like saying we need a new running back because Ken Walker has to fight to get back to the line of scrimmage on every carry. Both part of the same problem. And yes, coaching is part of the problem, but more on the offensive scheming not doing them any favors. They're drawing up plays like they have an o-line that can hold up - but every run play has guys in the backfield right after the snap, and every pass play has no pocket.

If Geno had the kind of pass protection Lamar has, Geno would have put up his usual numbers of passes and yards. I read that the Ravens are #1 in the NFL for sacks. I felt that spelled doom for the Hawks. That O line that can't provide Geno with pass protection also can't make a hole for Walker. Poor kid didn't stand a chance. And that Ravens RB looked like he was coated in teflon - slippery little bastard! Although on one play he was dragging 5 Seahawk defenders before going to ground. Who does that?

Lynch was pretty good at dragging dudes along with him.

Lynch was just plain hard to tackle. When the O line doesn't open a hole for him, he just made his own. I once heard Lynch say about the competition, "When we make contact, one of us is gonna' hurt, and it won't be me." Beastmode was a beast. Like you posted above, Walker had to fight his way to the scrimmage line. Kinda' hard to make yards with the defenders in your own backfield. I'm not an astute enough student of the sport to know why, but the Hawks are often plagued with a porous O line. Absent some protection, QBs and RBs fail.

I nominate Evan and Salmo to get hired on as co-GMs of the Seahawks!

Ravens are a very good, well balanced team that has a great defense. Seahawks took too long to get the ball out, and it is hard to run the ball down by 3 scores...

One thing that's so bizarre is that they aren't doing ANYTHING to keep the opposing DL guessing. All they have to do is stack the box because they know they aren't going to run it to the outside, run bootlegs, screens, quick crossovers, or anything of the sort. They're going to run it up between the tackles, or they're going to have Geno stand in the pocket and wait for long routes to develop. That's it. That's all they have to plan for.

Ken Walker's best runs happen when he improvises and bounces off the line and gets around the end to the outside. Yet they never seem to design a play to get him there on purpose. It's like their playbook consists of 3-4 predictable plays, and that's making it easy for the opposition to just send the house at the OL every play and get away with it.

It could be worse. Trust me. I watch a predictable offense that is devoid of talent on Sundays.

Their is talent in Seattle. Their is speed on offense. The Chickenhawks played poorly yesterday. They do have talent though and the very basic simple way that they play allows them to play fast when they are playing well. When they are not playing well, the stubbornness is quite difficult to watch.

Carrol looked and sounded like a guy willing to make some adjustments after yesterdays game. We will see. He is a good coach though albeit stubborn. The quick passing game has never ben his thing. He may want to mix some in. I have not watched them a ton. Do they use RB/ middle screens much? Seems like middle screens would really complement their style of offense.

Evan, it definitely could be worse.

Some good sense being pointed out here…..but I’ll always been a fan of Pete/John. Our offense play book is lame and way too conservative. Running plays over and over without holes to run through, handing the ball three yards deep, passing behind the line of scrimmage on third downs……come on! We’re just not mixing things up enough. I thought for sure Pete would light a fire under their asses after the first half. I’m just a bench warmer but that shit is hard to watch! GET GOING HAWKS!!

Seattle has had Ground Chuck.
I’d prepare for more Ground Pete due to the turnover issues. He’s done that in the past, even with Wilson.
