Rodger Staubach was the real deal and a heisman trophy winner from Navy (that will never happen again), who had to wait his turn to play. I think Rodger the Dodger had something to do with the Dallas star image rising in the eyes of the nation. When he said he enjoyed sex just as much as Joe Namath but he preferred sex with one woman, his wife, he won hearts of many. How many Turkey days did I watch this dude win games for the Cowboys? It seemed like an eternity to me at the time. Just to turnaround and watch them again around christmas time again in the playoffs. Santa Clause and Cowboys were just a duet for a lot of the 70’s. And more than Baseball, Chevrolet, and Apple pie it seemed like….Turkey Day, Santa Claus, and Cowboys….it became almost annual event and American.

Marshawn not a bullshitter. I believe he calls it as it is. In some ways I think Zorn was wearing the same shoes as Russell….but along came Kreig who identified and related very well to teammates and eventually took over. Now, Kreig, here is a qb of very limited talent who succeeded in the nfl because he was smart, accurate, had semi decent skills… can’t compare him to Marino. But players loved him and battled with him. The most amazing ill gifted qb i have seen and have success are Billy Kilmer, horrible, and Bernie Kosar. Now they both carved out great careers…. Why? Yet top protégés like Heath Shuler, Blaine Gabbert, Johnny Manziel just to name a few can’t do it.
