NFL 2022 Season

Geno did what he could when he could. You really can't expect much more. He was under pressure the second the play starts on just about every play. No time for routes to develop, no pocket to step up in. That's not on Geno. I don't think any rookie or less experienced QB is going to come in and light it up in that same situation.

The interior line/center situation absolutely needs fixing. Fix that, and Geno, or anyone else, actually has a chance.
Exactly what was said about the last QB.
Sometimes the other team is just better.

I’m looking forward to seeing the decisions they make this offseason
The franchise is in pretty good shape
The decisions they make will determine the success over the next few years
My prediction is they won’t give Geno the big dough
Not long term (2 years maybe)if that

Geno isn't the big problem here. It's just a young team with some holes (and some more due to injuries) playing against a very good Chiefs team. You can't make a lot of mistakes when you've got Mahomes playing against you at QB.

Hawks outperformed in the middle third of the season and got folks excited. But at the end of the day, they are still building. Let's hope for good use of the '23 draft picks (no more Malik McDowell type screwups or Germain Ifedi busts) and we could see some real progress next season.

... That would be the Chiefs

I couldn't watch the game, but heard it on Chiefs radio; sounded like there were a couple stone hands drops in the 4th quarter as well. Does't matter how good a quarterback is of the receivers can't catch it. But like I said, I could only hear it, not see it.

Cheers and go Chiefs

The other team was way better. Same as the last few teams. Geno is very different from Russ though. If he gets a pocket, he's deadly. This line isn't giving him one lately. He can improvise a bit and do OK though.

With Russ, he had a pocket but would scramble and bail anyways.

They are going to save on a big Geno payday now. If they went crazy and ended playoff bound at 13-4/12-5, he would've commanded a hefty price. Now they can pay him what a .500-sh team pays a QB, and no doubt, draft a QB early round next year just as it looked like when the season started?

Geno seems worth a 3 year 45 Mill contract. Get a QB with your high draft pick and let him take over when ready and Geno goes back to the bench.

Or you could do what a really good team does; trade all your #1s for a guy who gets hurt right away, pay his backup a ton of money who is really good but also gets hurt a lot, then go kick ass with the last pick in the draft.

The last two games in particular the Hawks simply ran into teams that were much, much better. Hawks have a lot going for them and the future looks very bright, but they have a ways to go still and playing really good teams makes that very obvious. There are still plenty of holes to fill, and let's not forget how young many of their key players are.

I dont know if Geno is truly the long term answer or not, but I am confident that the last two games are not any sort of indictment against him. Zero time in a clean pocket. Zero run game. And people think his play is a sign that he's somehow not a quality QB? That's funny to me. How well do you think some rookie qb would have done last week with Bosa in his face all day? I'd say the fact that he didn't put up far worse numbers says that he is pretty damned good. I'd love to see him given a chance with an O line with these quality tackles with a full season under their belts and an improved interior line. Not sure how anyone can watch the likes of Gabe Jackson and come away thinking Geno is the problem. IMO this team would have about 3 wins without Geno. I know the grass is always greener, but there's a reason Denver traded Lock and there is definitely a reason the coaches haven't shown any interest in playing him this season.

Depending on where their picks end up in the draft I'd love to see them grab a stud interior D lineman, maybe a big time edge rusher, and improve that interior line. Sign Geno to a fair deal and see what happens. Anyone been watching the Niners win with Purdy? Is that because Purdy is THAT good or does the fact that he's surrounded by a ton of talent help?

If there is a qb they are in love with they can still take him and groom for the future, but if they swing and miss on a top QB that can set them back quite a ways as well. Zack Wilson anyone?

Minshew
He has always been poised
Except in the Apple cup in the snow
I’m over that though
He’s legit

Another example of what can happen when a qb is playing on a team with all the pieces in place. Do you think Minshew would have faired better than Geno these last two weeks?

Don’t know Nick
I guess I’m just not a Geno fan as the Hawks move along
That’s pretty much my stance
Actually we would do best if we improved our D
Always a good thing to play solid D

Geno was quite literally one of the best QBs in the NFL this year. I don't get this at all.

Baseball has that weird stat WAR/Wins Above Replacement. Wish we could plug that in for the Seahawks over the past few years with Wilson, Smith and different QB's in each Seahawks game and see how the outcome would have been. Russell Wilson did some serious Houdini work in the past I think many have forgotten, that gave them a couple/few more wins a year alone, IMHO.

I agree with a lot of above, Geno is not the big problem on the team for sure. Hotter than a pistol early. Late season? He was not Houdini, either, but capable. He deserves a $15-$17 million single year contract or maybe 2 years for $30-$35 million?

"You are what your record says you are" is pretty true for this team. They are the '22 Mariners. Just hoping to be just good enough to sneak into the playoffs.
That would be a great success.

As of today the Hawks have beaten only two teams with winning records. And both of those teams have 8 wins each to the Seahawks 7. Middle of the pack...or worse with a 17 game season.

Draft a QB, then address other needs. Let the new QB watch and learn while Geno plays for a couple of years and keeps you in favorable draft territory.

What I find remarkable this season is how many teams seem to be able pull QBs out of broom closets and keep playing at a high level.

Is it just me or do deep ball PIs seem to be about 50-50? I feel like I see way more PI calls than actual completions. I think it's a real play, get in 1 on 1 and throw it a bit short, get the PI call. That's a lot easier than the WR getting a step and the QB putting it right in the basket.

Always part of the game plan.
