I gotta say that was some brutal reffing on both sides. The idea that a mutli billion dollar business can't employ full time paid refs is insane.

Not complaining about any calls, just saying they were all over the place and it was a total shitshow.
 
Mighty quiet round these parts. Understandable but maybe don't give that certain Rams fan such a hard go?

I too find it odd that the NFL can't pay fulltime refs. I'm sure they wouldn't need to pay them anything close to what they pay the lowest paid player.

That sounds like a pretty full-time salary, and then some, to me, and I'm sure to most others - I believe it puts you in the top 5%.

Other than a few key breakdowns they played decent enough to have a chance to win, but not much offense.
A turnover, a few missed assignments on defense and a missed chance for an interception pretty much sealed things.
Can't turn it over against good teams, got to make plays when the chances are there.
Good teams make the plays and take advantage of the opportunities...
 

Is refereeing in the NFL a full-time job?​

Working as an NFL referee is a part-time job. They do not receive insurance benefits because of this, but they do have a 401k plan with a partial matching contribution. Additionally, the NFL Referees Association represents them.

(No helmets, no pads, just a whistle for protection ... guess I can see why they don't have group insurance...)


The official salary for NFL referees has not been disclosed, but as of 2019, it was reported that NFL referees make an average of $205,000 per year.

(It that's the average, what is the lower and upper levels? That's a hell of a wage for a part time job.)

Ok…throwing snowballs as a td celebration from the crowd is going to backfire…it’s making the end zone a slippery place…
 
... and how about those Chiefs, scraping by the mighty Texans, keeping Houston at a single win on the season and in the process, clinching their seventh, yes count them, seventh consecutive AFC west title.
