The Donkeys offense looks familiar somehow, just can't put my finger on it...

I had a horrendous head injury where a part of the lower panel of a A/P wing fell and busted my head open. I asked the doctor what it looked like. He told me that it looked like somebody hit me on the head with a dull axe. I had a dent in my skull that was about 4" long and about a half an inch wide, and about 1/2" deep.. I also got my bell rung. It happened at sometime in the pm. I don't even remember getting hit. It knocked me out at the time. I woke up in Central Medical at Boeing. I was transferred to a hospital at Northgate, but it was the wrong one. I was to go to the other one in that area, Northwest. The driver of the ambulance didn't know where it was at. I woke up just long enough to direct him there and passed out again. I woke up when my wife at the time showed up and passed out again. Ended up at a religious Hospital in Seattle. Where they took very good care of me.

This all happened in 1965. I put this here because of players keep getting their bells rung. And everybody thinks that a head injury is not much. Let me tell you that it is bad. It took me over 3 months to come all the way out of it. I came back to work after a month off. They give football players only a week off for a concussion. They should have about a month off to get it all ironed out so they can be like a human being again.

Tua had two of them weeks apart. He should take at least a month off. Your brain is funny that way. One false hit and your gone. Or you could get hit like I did. and still be around. The doc gave me 60/40 to come back normal or just to remain alive. I'm still here and kicking.

Denver papers were brutal this morning.

Plus they had 2 season ending injuries, which is never good...

Not looking good for the Donkeys, don't know if their first time head coach can keep a team together when it starts to come unravelled.

I watched the second half. Wilson was bad. I am not going to speak to cognitive decline as I am not smart like Boot or Cabezon. I do love football though.

What I saw was a QB who did not go through his reads quick enough to make the sort of offense that he was running work. He may not know the offense well enough yet to play as quick as he needs to from the pocket. The fact that he struggles so much in the red zone tells me that the quicker he needs to make a choice, the worse off he is. In the restricted small parts of the field, the inability to process quickly really shows.
He is short. He has always struggled with passes within 15 yards and in the middle of the field. It seems to me, that Pete did not ask him to make those throws much.

Pete's offense was also so preposterously simple that Metcalf can be a star in it although he can run only a few routes well. Simple schemes allow athletes to play quick. Complicated schemes allow more cerebral players to play quicker than their bodies generally can. It looks like Hackett runs a West Coast/ Shannahan Offense with a lot of quick decisions. It seems to be fairly complex from the perspective of the QB and decision making with more short west coast stuff than Shanahan horizontal routes and bootlegs off the stretch play. It's not the simple style offense he excelled with in Seattle. It may just take time. I think it would work better if they understood that he can't see from the pocket. Get him out of the pocket or give him downfield big play options.

So either Wilson has to come up to speed so that he can process better or Hackett has to find a way to run the ball more than 24 times vs. 39 throws. They did not exactly make it easy for Wilson with the amount of runs they ran. From what I saw it featured less play action, less planned time to throw, less bootlegs, quicker decisions from the pocket throwing passes that are close to the line of scrimmage. None of these are Wilson's strengths.

In watching the second half, I did not see Wilson run or scramble a bunch. He throws on the run better than any QB I have ever seen. He looks like a middle infielder. I did not see planned roll outs or the standard Wilson hero ball that Pete's simple vertical schemes afforded him. I did not see any of the outside zone/ bootleg stuff that the Shanahan offense is known for (see the Rams). It seems like that sort of stuff would play to Wilsons strengths. It seemed like he was trying to stay in the pocket even.

I think that Wilson will improve if Hackett looks to get Wilson to move. Wilsons weaknesses are his height, his penchant for holding onto the ball too long and his hero ball mentality. Maybe we just need to give Carroll credit for knowing this and turning those weaknesses into strengths by giving him an opportunity to make big plays and limiting his chances to stall drives by taking 1st down sacks. I mean, if you always run on 1st and 10, you don't get sacked and end up 2nd and 18.

I gotta say ……
I am so over Russell Wilson I could go through the rest of my life without hearing anything about the dude
He just isn’t the guy that he’s been propped up to be

Shots fired…..
SF

Who's a poser? Coming from a guy (soap opera star Days of Our Lives- had to look him up) wearing a medium size Pearl Jam shirt ? If he was wearing a baggy Mother Love Bone shirt..or Soundgarden shirt he might be somewhat authentic. Haha. Shots fired back at this guy ! Not that I disagree with assessment of field play... but personal attacks off the field from a dude sporting a Mike McCready haircut?? Do you think he had the chained wallet? (just teasing, people! )

@Jojo I think I said wait until the 6th-7th week and we'd know how the trade went. Unless Wilson throws for 400+ yards and 5 td's 0 int in back to back weekend wins, the verdict may be in already.

While it's fun taking shots at Ciara's old man for being, old, short, not very good anymore, not too mobile, unable to find the open guy, a poser and not a good teammate...etc.

Where's @clarkman ....
🤣
