The blank has been ordered, and Steve Godshall is waiting for its arrival. This will be a boat rod for pike in Manitoba, and perhaps carp on foot locally. I have a Rio pike/musky 8 wt intermediate, but am of course thinking of picking up another line.
Anyone - @clarkman - have recommendations? I’m thinking SA Titan sonar int/3/6.

I've also bought this very same blank for myself. These new Zentron/S2 Glass blanks are very impressive. Very smooth and easy to cast. Extra durable when compared to graphite. Much lighter in weight than standard fiberglass. Powerful lifting ability. Really, just an ideal boat rod for Coho in the Sound.

Depends on your water. On Merwin for Tigers, I like an intermediate and the SA Titan Sonar H/2/4 (my Cortland Compact Type 3 is pretty interchangeable here). This allows me to comfortably fish down to about 10-12' (in deeper depths because the visibility is so high. Of course, if you're just wanting to throw topwater, a floater (you can use your intermediate here if absolutely necessary). You're going to love that rod. I absolutely LOVE my 10wt. I'd guess that something in the 300gr neighborhood would get it dialed in, but if it's anything like the 10wt, it'll handle a far wider range than any graphite rod you've ever thrown.

That Titan taper is really sweet though (although, I'm becoming a huge fan of the Cortland Compact series as well).

The Compact is very different. Just a shorter shooting head. Fishes well, seems to hold up well.
