New Years Resolutions

Get out of the way....Need to stay focused on the enema/prune juice cocktail relief resolution! ;):poop::ninja:
Reminds me of a story from my younger days (words my kids have leaned to dread): Years ago, while a youth carpooling home from work, my buddies and I stopped at a convenience store to pick up snacks to tide us over until dinner. They opted for junk food, while I, being more health conscious, spotted a 15 oz bottle of prune juice. I downed it on the way home...and my nights' entertainment was pretty much mapped out.

Represent!!!

Resolution- a firm decision to DO or NOT do something...I don't read the word "hope" anywhere in the definition of resolution. I'm reading a lot of "hope" to do this or "hope" to do that. I'm not saying you can guarantee anything, but at a minimum, your resolution should read, I plan on doing such and such. Hope is not a strategy:)

Resolution…. There are those that try to make life happen and then there are those that simply let life happen. I have fallen in to the later to some degree, some of the best things to happen to me is when you’re not trying to make something happen. Some of my best fishing trips have happened when there was no real plan, just wing it, no pre scouting in terms of internet investigation, lining up gear for certain targets, trying to make an itinerary, etc.

Thus the value of the 6 weight. The best explorative do most anything fly rod you can own. At least in the PNW for most part. Never travel without one 😆

Right now my new years resolution is to take a shit, any shit, preferably a satisfying shit as I've beenon oxy, morphine and dilaudid for 5 days.
Okay, this brings up an old pet peave. At discharge from inguinal hernia surgery, I was handed a sheet of post-op instructions, which included taking a stool softener. I phoned a pharmacy when I got home, and the clerk said, "Sure, we have that, no prescription required. Just pop over and pick some up." I said, "Young lady, I just had surgery. I can't even hardly sit up in bed, so I can't just "pop over." I got some brought over to me the next day, by which time I needed it the day before. Then, to my dismay, I discovered the stuff took at least a day or two to start working. Why the hell didn't the pre-op info sheet I got before the surgery mention getting stool softener BEFORE surgery? Anyone who's had abdominal surgery knows that it's not possible to use your core muscles for some time. Even just a gentle cough or laugh is painful. So my advice: start taking stool softeners a couple of days BEFORE surgery. Save yourself some agony!
Oh, and here's some even better medical advice that my dad (doc) used to say, when I was wrenching on a car or other repair: "Never force anything, especially when you're constipated!"

Fortunately they do this now. Part of my pre op was a pretty seriously 2 day routine of laxatives then a suppositories the night before, along with the fasting you are reamed out good, and gives you a jump start ok problems afterward.

I do not believe in New Year resolutions. It is a setup for failure IMHO. Lose weight, become taller, more active, leading to a sober life, getting drug free, getting richer, what ever, are all just fantasies at best.

They are self-centered ---> all about me... Why?

I prefer to help others. Pure and simple.... A gift is all about giving. Not receiving. I want others to find a career that makes their life long dreams. To find a way forward for them and their family to make an impact of society. To make a better place for all of us to live better even if it is a small way forward.

I will help in any way I can... I have had a good life. I only hope I can help others have a better life.

Pay it forward....

You have to fish with confidence
It really makes all the difference in the world
Seriously
One should only fish with confidence when they are doing the right thing at the right time and place.. if you're not you should have have doubt not confidence so that you'll change..
