Am I just cynical/misinformed or is this nothing more than a vague commitment to take WDFW at their word for? I don't really see any specific policy proposals here like retention closures, survey/statistical methodology to determine what rivers can and can't support harvest, or anything concrete
The link to the approved policy was but is no longer broken (in the link I provided below) but I am glad to see this in the final proposal to the Commission:
"• Maintain science-based (e.g. usingempirical data, principles from scientific literatureand/or biological reference points) conservation principles for the assessment and management of resident native trout that recognizes their diverse life histories."
that a few others and I advocated for during the public review and comments phase.
