Life of the Party
I’m working on my 5th Spey rod and trying to get my tooling dialed in. I had used the baginski style beveler which I had tough time with the larger diameter materials required for Spey rod. It worked great for the tip sections but mid and butt not so much. I did some searching around and bought the Quinchat beveler with the tapering jigs and the scalloping jigs also. The tapering jigs are for trout rods so I ordered some for Spey rods. I just had it’s first run today and I was able to rough out a tip section in a couple hours. This will allow me to reduce the amount of planing passes and be able to fine tune this process for me. I built some jigs that worked but they were not as precise as I wanted and this tool seems to be the ticket. If you guys have any experience with this tool and pros and cons any insight would be appreciated.80895C58-7129-4FD4-A449-1AECD588DE98.jpeg501AB66C-F9F1-4F2D-B5EC-77CF9C48ADDE.jpeg
