Neoprene Repair Question

Gonna make one last attempt, on my cheap, 3 year old, Bimart, "Allen", Neoprenes. Ive got a slow/seep leak, in the crotch area. These cheapies have definitely served their purpose but I hate to throw things out.

Been chasing the leak for 3 weeks. Two repairs with Aquaseal, have stemmed the worst of it ( started off with a flow of water ), but it still seeps. Seep is so minute, that it wont show up, with pressurized air and soapy water. It is possible that the neoprene is degraded. High use of the crotch area ( i.e. float tube crotch strap via old donut style tube and the usual sitting/rowing of driftboat ). Im thinking that maybe the neoprene has been crushed compromising the air pockets.

Has anyone used Shoe Goop, on Neoprenes, in place of Aquaseal? If so, does it work? Im already into 24 dollars worth of Aquaseal, on 70.00 waders. Ive got a huge tube of Shoe Goop Ive had for about 5 years. Id like to use that if possible.

Thank you in advance, for any and all help.

it will work on neo...make sure the Goop is at room temp first, then spread as thin a coat as you can, let it dry for at least ten minutes, then spread another thin coat. And be sure to do it in a well ventilated area as it contains Toulene which is nasty stuff.

Just apply it on the inside, not the outside.
I once had a pair of Streamline neoprene waders with a crotch leak. It took a lot of Aquaseal to finally fix the leak. The entire outside crotch area was covered. It looked like I got very excited about catching a big fish. I got some really weird looks. 😂

Aqua-seal combined with Cotal can glue up a tear/leak in just a matter of minutes . Apparently the new stuff uses UV light to instantly "cure" the aqua seal. Learning to fix your old waders will help you when it comes time to fixing your new waders...IMHO
