I don’t have rush hour traffic to contend with, do gauge my visits in town consistently getting 30.I get better mileage on the highway, but almost all of my driving is stop and go on local roads.
$29,999. Used 2025 outback, lease return, 11,000 miles, remaining warranty and extended power train.I should add that I'm not opposed to bumping up to $25k either. I'm also not opposed to another Prius. A little clearance is nice, but I've dealt with low clearance for quite awhile.
I got a 2022 Prius XLE AWD-e that I like. I fish around the Sound a lot, so I don't need a lot of clearance. It would be nice though.I should add that I'm not opposed to bumping up to $25k either. AWD Prius with lift kit. Best of all worlds.
Yup. We bought a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen with a manual and the 2.5l five cylinder for our 17 year old after he got his license. He basically had to learn to drive again, but he's appreciative of knowing how to row his own gears. And it's nice to hive around if I want to do a bit of spirited driving...Manual would actually be my preference.
Plus, virtually impossible for someone to steal these days.![]()
Color me intrigued about a lifted AWD Prius.I got a 2022 Prius XLE AWD-e that I like. I fish around the Sound a lot, so I don't need a lot of clearance. It would be nice though.
However, from talking with another Prius owner, there's a pretty simple lift kit that can be installed. It allows for larger tires as well. So it ends up lifting the car about four inches. That would be helpful.
I actually saw one recently in a parking lot here in Gresham. It was pretty sweet. Was a little over the top with a snorkel on the air intake and all that, but it was a really cool, kitted out car that you wouldn't expect from a Prius. Definitely thinking outside the box.Color me intrigued about a lifted AWD Prius.
We've had a 2017 CX-5 since new, not long after I left working as a Mazda tech. Around 110k miles on it, only thing we've replaced is the tires beyond other basic maintenance. If I remember correctly we get about 24-25mpg combined. No CVT either which is a nice bonus.Following this as we need a newer car with similar specs @clarkman is looking for.
Anyone have input on the Mazda CX models? We love our 2017 Mazda 6 (reliable, handles great, decent mileage) but its got lousy ground clearance and close to 120k miles.
120k is nothing on modern cars.Following this as we need a newer car with similar specs @clarkman is looking for.

Agreed. No plans to sell or trade it in. It will probably become my daily commuter. The change is my wife was working/car-pooling with me, but is now staying home to care for her Mom who lives with us. So we need a reliable 2nd car, and one with better ground clearance.120k is nothing on modern cars.
I’ve never been into them either, ignored them. Toyota? Yes.I actually saw one recently in a parking lot here in Gresham. It was pretty sweet. As someone who's just not into Subarus (I've tried, and owned a couple), I like seeing other things try to fill their niche.
