I like the direction the NBA is moving. At least the teams with good young players. OKC, San Antonio, etc. They play aggressively, they play defense, they are physical, etc. Reminds me of the 1990’s a bit. I’ve watched a number of games the last couple of weeks and most felt like playoff games…in December. Not the usual low energy, no defense snooze fests you often see this time of year in the nba. Still too many 3’s taken a game imo. They need to bump back the line again.
I don’t mind watching a well executed mid range game. Of course, the players need to be able to make those shots consistently which is a lost art these days. I hear you though. There would probably have to be other rule changes to go along with a deeper three point line to make it work. Allow more contact in the paint, actually call the defensive 3 second rule consistently, etc. IMO, the game was pretty damn exciting in the 90’s when there were 10 3’s taken a game versus the 35+ taken today. To me the games just not great when big guys shooting 30% from three point range are consistent taking 5-6 a game. Go mix it up, get bloody and dunk on someoneThere are some really well-rounded teams, a treat to watch, totally agree on that.
I like the current 3 pt line, it forces defenses out to meet offenses, which opens the floor. If the 3 pt line was farther back, defenses would back off, reduce rim penetration, and force more of a midrange game. The midrange game is relevant but IMO the least exciting to watch.
I really wish the NBA would stop splitting syndication of games … I pay for cable, and the NBA app, but now I also need Bezos Prime just to watch NBA games? And please ditch the gaudy court graphics of the “in-season” tournament. Those games are visually painful to watch, despite the increase in early-season intensity.
I heard Ja was on the market...no thanks, I'm good...Go Celtics...
One thing is for sure…I’m no fan of LaMelo Ball…Lol, that Heat/Hornets game needed the soundtrack to benny hill playing in the background.
I can't wait until the grownups start playing.
When you have Steph, you are always in the game...That GS/LA game was just about the polar opposite of the Char/Mia game ....sure, both were exciting at the end due to a frenetic pace (but the similarities end there) but man, watching the execution by GS at the end of that game....that was something else. I mean, they're not gonna win a series if they get in, but that was some entertaining basketball to watch.
