The NBA season has just started...

My Celtics have a different look in the starting lineup, with Horford, Holiday and Porzingis on other teams, and Jason Tatum still recovering from an achilles tear late last season...

Wemby looks unstoppable.

Then again, Joker still IS unstoppable.

Wemby is on fire at 7'5 with dominance in the paint and a solid mid and three... if he can stay healthy he's going to own all the personal records. And the Spurs are building a solid team around him, with another year of experience they will be competing at the highest level.

Lebron’s all time scoring lead is gonna be so hard to beat just due to his incredible longevity. Hard to believe he’s still playing the way he is after more than two decades in the league.

But along the lines of what you were saying, pretty sure Wemby is outpacing Lebron over his first couple years in the league.

actually outpacing everyone in every category for the first 5 games.
Whereas not a huge fan of LeBron due to his flair for drama and self proclamation, he is indeed a rare Iron Man

Wemby is the French Freak…I hope he can stay healthy to have a long career…

I’ll be in NYC for Thanksgiving and we have tix to the Knicks-Bucks game. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen a live NBA game…

Also, side note after looking at the all time scoring list. Hard to believe OKC had three of the top 20 all time scorers on their squad at the same time, PLUS a prime Serge Ibaka. They kinda biffed that one.

Thanks for Jrue and taking Simons.😎 Great change for the Zers. Pritchard was one of my favorite Ducks.

Wemby for his career (120 games) is outpacing Malone in rebounds, Hakeem in blocks, Steph in 3's, and LeBron in points - how's that for dominance?

Wemby absolutely schooled Anthony Davis, no scrub, the other night so badly that Davis went on the injured report the next day from trying to stay with him.
His length and 8' wingspan are absurd, when he makes a spin move in the paint and take a single step and reaches he has covered 12' in a flash...and at only 21, he still has another half dozen years before he reaches his physical peak.
He is the show in the NBA these days.

He should dominate for a long time. The only possible hiccup could be his long term health. How will the NBA grind affect his unicorn body?

It will be interesting to see teams experiment with possible defensive strategies for SA. Is there a way to minimize his effectiveness?

hard fouls in the paint, only way to get to such a big, and usually what ends up starting the injury cascade

Watching an NBA game on the League Pass app and a Simms commercial with bass spinfishing shows during a commercial break.

I don’t watch much TV … are Simms ads mainstream now??

I like the direction the NBA is moving. At least the teams with good young players. OKC, San Antonio, etc. They play aggressively, they play defense, they are physical, etc. Reminds me of the 1990’s a bit. I’ve watched a number of games the last couple of weeks and most felt like playoff games…in December. Not the usual low energy, no defense snooze fests you often see this time of year in the nba. Still too many 3’s taken a game imo. They need to bump back the line again. I’ve been paying attention to the Spurs since they drafted Stephon Castle from UConn. That teams core is 21 (Wemby), 21 (Castle), 19 (Harper) and 27 (Fox) with a bunch of great supporting players in their primes. If they can keep that team together, they are going to be tough for lot of years.

I’m really happy to see Castle thriving this year. I’ve been watching UConn religiously since the late 80’s and have seen a ton of great players come through that program. He was the best freshman I ever watched in his one and done year. At 21 he still has a lot of improvement ahead of him and from everything I’ve ever read about him, the mindset to do it. If bumps the 3p% and ft% a tad a cuts turnovers just a smidge, he likely becomes a perennial allstar potential all nba type player.
