Morning was dark and drizzling, but light winds kept the skeeters off…good streamer weather…lost one more pig just after lunch. Then the sun came out, the winds died, and couldn’t hook a fish over 20” the rest of the afternoon…

Yeah, this state is kinda goofy like that. You're actually further west than the Big Island, but you're still in the AK time zone. To make it even weirder, the Nak is SOUTH of me in SE AK...

Naknek rainbows look like steelhead because they spend most of their lives in the big lake, living a freshwater form of pelagic lifestyle. They are adfluvial fish, migrating between river and lake. The leopard spotted rainbows that Alaska is famous for are river resident fluvial fish, and more than beautiful in their own right.
