No fish pics this time. This was my annual trip with my friend who is unbearably famous. He doesn’t like his picture taken (I would never post those anyway) and as talented he is, he might be the worst photographer I’ve metπŸ˜‚. Some years we fish 2-3 times and for whatever reason, these trips end up being really good and they go completely undocumented.

Anyway, fishing was good but not great. We covered a LOT of water yesterday. Around noon we had a really good Drake hatch that lasted for an hour or more. We caught good numbers of quality fish but we didn’t catch any of those jumbo cutties we were into last week. Another difference from this week to last was the lack of willing attractor eating fish between hatches. That could be due in part to pressure and the lack of big bugs that were around more last week. The curse of an epic day is that hope/expectation of replication on your next trip despite knowing better.

We did fish a stretch that was new to both of us. That also puts me 4 miles closer to completing a 25 mile stretch that I want to fish every inch of before summer. Next week my goal is to bang out another 5-6 miles. I’ve been saving that one for a couple of young ambitious dudes who share that same adventure lust that I have. I never grow tired of this area and it’s incredible landscape. IMG_7258.jpeg
