My new little trout set-up

Long story short my wife was thrift shopping and picked up this USA made Pflueger 1494.5 and spare reel with a Cortland 7WF 444SL and 7W ST III (Peach). She paid 25.00 bucks or something like that. So I had to get a rod for it. And I found this to match it ….. Shakespeare Presidential FY950-7’9” 4 piece. So fun to cast this noodle on grass. Look forward to hitting some water soon.

Switched out to try the Cortland 444 Peach 6WF. $$$$$ Much much better than the 7WF SL line. I’ll keep the the 7 ST3 tho. Cast just fine for some leech action.

I’m thinking I’m going back to glass for some applications. Mainly trout fishing in many situations. This gonna cover a lot of trout water for me and small package. The 24” inch tube is !!!!

I have a 2 piece Wonderod I bought new in June of 1964. I use it with an old Pflueger reel. I don't use it often, but I enjoy it when I do use. After 62 years the varnish on the wraps has yellowed a little, but everything is still tight.

Yeah I don’t know. I have heard of refreshing old rods with a new coating covering. Not sure if needed or true??? Everything white or bright will kinda yellow over time.
