Moving to Sacramento

I'll be moving down to Sacramento for two years as my girlfriend is doing her grad program down there. For those who have lived in and around, how's the fly fishing around there? Oh and any spots in and around sac we should avoid or move to/

I grew up in Sacramento but have not lived there for almost 40 years. Growing up, my friends and I used to ride our bikes to the American River. I caught a lot of trout (1/2 lb steelhead), stripers, and the occasional bass and shad. My favorite trout stream was the S Fork American River up by Kyburz. Lots of great memories fishing with my dad, grandfather, and friends.
