One thing I miss most about living in the PNW are the many “micro-fisheries” I discovered over the years. Relegated to fishing weekends only, I had nightmares of fighting for elbow room at the popular river runs, boat ramps, and beaches. This, combined with unending curiosity (and boredom of routine), drew me to investigate potential “micro-fisheries” within my day-trip radius. Some favorites-
A mid-elevation lake with colored-up coastals

A golf course pond with beastly bass

An urban stream with spunky searuns

What small gems have you discovered away from the crowds?
