Methow Steelhead Opening 2024

Anyone heard anything on this river potentially opening again for 2025?
It's mid October already, so I can imagine it ain't happening. I don't think Priest Rapids hit their magic numbers but I haven't been watching.

They should put a quota on steelhead for guides at Drano, I saw so many limits out of there it was insane. It’s funny that you have to catch double clipped fish at Ringold but everyone smashed Drano so hard this year and no one cares where those fish were headed.

And with the Deschutes being less of a cold water refuge every year more fish use Drano. The Toilet Bowl should be called the Barrell.

@Evan B fish are late getting over The Dalles, JD and McNary. The river didn't start cooling until Sept 11 and it was 73 degrees to start.
So about 1 or 2 degrees warmer and 2 weeks later than usual. Not sure if that will equal a 1k fish over PRD, but it could be close!

On a positive note, last year’s run comprised of about 30% Wild Steelhead and so far this year we are at 47%.

Additionally, this year is about 2000 Steelhead over the 10 year average in total over Priest Rapids Dam (clipped & wild).
Chinook, Sockeye, and Coho are substantially under the 10 year average at Priest Rapids Dam in comparison.

73 tagged fish at Pateros array and 38 at Carlton the last 30 days. There's not great info on how many fish get tagged, especially since some are tagged as adults in places like Bonny or Priest Rapids.
73 at Pateros seems decent to me. There were only 37 at Carlton for the month of October last year.

So for what it's worth...
