Just got back from Spokane. Watched the women's Sweet 16 games Friday and yesterday and the Elite 8 game today. UCLA & UConn both look really tough. Saw Paige Buckets score 40 last night. That was pretty cool.
It was an awesome setup at the Spokane Arena. Met lots of friendly people. Quite a few from Montana. I don't watch a lot of women's games and only follow the top storylines, but it was great to see the games in person. The women's game has come a long way just the last 10 years.
On the men's side my beloved Zags got screwed with an 8 seed. Sort of their own damn fault though.
As I watched the ticker on a perennial March choker of a team in Tennessee score 15 measly points in the 1st half vs Houston, I couldn't help get mad again about the Zags seeding.
If they don't lose to Oregon State or Santa Clara during the season, or blow the 18 pt lead they had vs Kentucky (I was at that one), they're most likely the 6 or 7 seed in that region and very well could've been in that game instead of Tennessee. And they would've scored a hell of a lot more than 15! But they did so oh well. Maybe next year.
The experts were all right about the top 4 so good for them.
Go Houston!! Be cool to see coach Sampson finally get one.
