Lunch break

My oldest stepson has been home for Spring Break. Today was his last day here and he wanted to work on technique. While the water is up a bit from warm temps the past few days, the river still has great color.

I love the convenience. I sneak out here all the time for an hour or two on lunch break. Some folks around here take it for granted but it is a pretty special piece of water.

All right, I'll help it along. Got out between morning and afternoon duties at school today to fish blustery lake alongside another flyfisherman from WW that I hadn't met.

I've been thinking about a 9' 5wt. Almost pulled the trigger on a couple. I took the 9' 6wt Classic Trout out of the case and was reminded what a nice looking piece of kit it is. Screw the new rod, this fit's the bill for now. I forget what a nice rod it is to cast, just natural. Made all the casts I needed and was good for the fish size, like this rainbow on a leech. You know it was just two years ago you folks pertinently explained what an idicator was to me.

And there were these, taken on the Higa's. They have a nice orange slash just like a cutthroat would under the jaw, maybe cuttbow? Sorry to make you suffer for the shot that didn't show it fish.

What a nice midday break, and I came home to see these have opened up.
