Sums it up for me today.
Been a weird spring with a weird/busy schedule, so my spring smallmouth efforts have been exactly NIL so far. After getting my ass handed to me trying to catch springers yesterday and last weekend, I decided I could use some bass therapy. So I headed up the Columbia Gorge for some safe bet locations.

Today was one of those weird ones where you're throwing all your tricks at them, but nothing feels right. I don't know if it's the cobwebs or what, but I just never had confidence. Tried sinking line with big patterns dredged deep (the only thing that got any action), beating up the banks with all sorts of presentations, tried small stuff that seems to work when nothing else will, and even threw topwater.
For a good half day of effort, I just have this one to show for it. I had a few other lethargic grabs, but definitely not the action I was expecting.

Not sure if the sudden change in weather put them down, or if they're hitting the spawn pretty hard. I feel like I've had years where I'm crushing it up until one day it stops very suddenly. I'm sure this is one of those "shoulda been here yesterday" type of days.
