Yesterday I went fishing upriver here on the N. Umpqua.
I have never seen the river this low even in late August.
This is good for me, cause as my legs aren't what they used to be, and I was able to wade out and fish a run that I have never been able to fish before.
Yes, I caught a couple of really nice coastal cuts, one 16" plus the other 14".
The river is still, cold but not too cold to wet wade.
I love fishing a dry fly in clear water and watching those big beautiful cutts come up from the bottom, even when they don't take my fly.
