I have a friend just getting started and let's just say he's.....frugal. Given that he'll probably only fish a few times a year, thoughts on a cheaper net? I'm trying to talk him out of the $29 Amazon one.

I have used the top net for about a year with no complaints! Seems pretty decent quality for the price.I purchased this net in 2018 and it held up great 4-5 years with pretty heavy use in salt and freshwater. I switched to a fishpond in 2022 but still have this in the garage as a backup/extra.
They have a standard trout landing net too for $25.
I have no idea who/what this company is but it’s an example of an Amazon cheapy that ended up working really well for me over a number of years. If they are really in a budget, this might not be a bad option.
$5 tennis racket from the thrift store with a $10 fish net replacing the strings..strong and light. Tell me how much difference it would be in use from a $200 Fishpond?
