Gonna resurrect this one.
These are starting to show up (new) for $279 if you look hard enough. I found an online out of state deal w/ no ST and free shipping for the 590 model. Having run around with it, and knowing a multitude of lake fishers, I'd tell nearly all to go with the Lago or Carbon XL as a much more suitable option in that price range.
The Boost excels in rough conditions, or with more awkward streamers and such. I was curious how versatile it would be and am mainly keeping as a bass stick vs. setting up a whole new 6 or 7 wt. Ideal for the way I'm using it. Even as a chronic aggressive caster of full sink lines, I'd say more of a medium-fast blank with a little less backbone has a much better feel in comparison.
The Boost as a lake rod is fun to a point, then it's just stiff. Hope that helps if anyone else has been curious.
