Long Wait

I ordered a fly rod from Edge Rods on December 2. I received notice of shipment today, and hopefully will receive it on Friday. That's over 3 months! I'm not tremendously pleased about this, as fishing season for me began 1/7/23. It's not like I don't have another rod (or more) to use, but it seems to be a long time to wait. Just sayin'. I guess mining the carbon to make carbon fiber takes a long time.

I wouldn’t say that is unusual given the current supply chain issues.

Eeeeeh... those kinda ended about a year ago.

Good to know.
The supply chain issues are certainly not even close to having ended in my business.
I just got an order in that was placed last June.

Maybe it is a lack of labor force problem then, which many companies are also facing.

With Edge, I think these issues pre-date Covid.

Im still seeing it in the construction industry. Heat pumps and switch gear are the two I've been seeing and hearing about the most lately.

We ordered our switchgear for a middle school in Seattle today. The project completes in summer '25. Trying to stay ahead of the game.

Well? How's the rod?

Agreed. A couple months ago, I enquired about having some car body repair work done. I was told (and also read this in the news), that there was about an 8 month wait in the body shop industry here (Vancouver Island), because parts are still extremely slow to get. Probably also shortage of labour, still.

My son is in the industry and what you said is spot on.

Shipping these days is like you'll see yer stuff someday, maybe.
I got my pickup repaired. Parts had to be ordered, shipping took a month.
I mail my house payment and if I don't send it off two weeks early it doesn't get there on time.
I ordered a jacket from "Sierra Trading Post" it took three weeks.
