Lone Lake tomorrow

Life of the Party
the eastside looks windy and possibly snow over the pass, so I am going to try Lone. taking my daughter's boyfriend so he will be in my pontoon boat and I'll be in a row boat. my priority is to see him get some fish.
let me know if you are out there tomorrow and I'll row you over a beer.

belated report: my plan was to make sure I offered plenty of help to my daughter's boyfriend and hoping he would catch some fish. didn't turn out that way. he used my pontoon boat and I used my rowboat. I told him low and slow is the game and to keep close. didn't happen. he was all over the place. at one point he was working on a knot he made in the line. I came over to help and it was a knot in the backing - about 150 feet into the backing!!!
we got most of the backing back but I ended up cutting about 75 feet of it so he could get back to fishing.
it was a slow day for everyone on the lake - I would say 7/8 people on the water and I saw one guy chiro fishing land 3 fish.
towards the end of the day, I reeled him in and made him stay right next to me. I suggested he try stripping in the line for something different (tough for me as I need to be on the sticks to keep moving). he wasn't understanding how I wanted him to strip in - short 5-6 inch strips - hard and quick and then pause. I quit rowing and said like this: and on my third strip, I hooked and landed a fat 15 inch bow.
that was it for the day - nice day to be on the water. still dialing in my row boat.
only 3 CL's were consumed by me.

I used to take my daughters boyfriends out on the boat with me fishing…but it was usually 20 miles out in 4’-6’ seas and me telling them stories about boats capsizing and getting eaten by sharks…

Thank you for the report.
Couple summers ago, I took my daughter's boyfriend fly fishing.
I nick named his bird nests appropriately after him. "Kasan's". No kidding, I had eight of these to deal with during the day.
Think I actually swore at him towards the end of the day.
He is thankfully no longer around but I still call tangle ups Kasan's.

If you go and like to fish mids, small re sz 16 or 18 are good. Black, brown, of dark olive. Pumped fish had lots of daphnia so blobs may work but I didn’t try them this early.. Just off the bottom worked am but higher up to 6-8 ‘ from the bobber worked for others later on.
