Is it possible that the extreme cold snap we had depleted the food source but allowed the fish to survive? I say this for two reasons. First, everyone was catching fish including my ugly flies. Had some flurries were every cast was attacked. Problem is the fish were smaller than usual and thinner than usual. Finally, people, including a woman game official, commented on never seeing the lake this low.
Soooooo, very glad to be outdoors catching fish, seeing Loons, Osprays, ducks, and hearing my favorite Sand Hill Cranes. Best way I know to recharge and find some time to look skyward and silently ask for an end to a senseless war.
