Over the last couple years I have been gifted a good amount of gear. I have a number of unidentified fly lines. I'm trying to organize and figure out what I have before I go buy anything new. I figure it should be easy to figure out sinking vs floating. What about other details? Most broadly who might I determine line weight of an unknown line? What about taper? Maybe get my calipers out for that? I'm really just hoping to get in the ballpark to have an idea of what I have. There's one that should be easy. New (old) in box Orvis intermediate running line. Box says .029 952K-2000. Doesn't say what weight. I've looked online for help and can find anything. I want to add an intermediate line to the collection and this might work. Any help would be appreciated.
