If anyone needs a break today, watch at least the first half of this.

I had never heard of the company, but what they are doing in Rwanda seems truly amazing. The future amazon/doordash delivery type stuff is interesting, particularly those "quiet" rotors, but less inspiring. Plus, it seems like it would be a clusterfuck in the skies pretty quickly if lots of companies used them. But still, the Rwanda drone system is super cool.

THAT is friggin’ amazing!

At least the Rwandan part…didn’t watch the rest.

Right? It's like an iPhone video game but it's real and saves lives.

The delivery drone stuff is interesting on the technical end. It does try to solve noise/danger/annoyance issues. But I just don't think it's scalable or something most people would want having hundreds buzzing around the skies.

The creativity and ingenuity to get this where they are today blows my mind. I also agree with the scalable question you brought up, and have no idea if it is reasonable to think drones could become common practice in the US or any more populated area. But then I think about the hundreds of cars driving on roads just to deliver fast food and pizza, and how it illustrates that we can become oblivious to inefficient practices because they are in a system that we are already accustomed to...so we just accept it. I wonder what some skeptics thought when they saw cars on the dirt roads for the first time. But even if this is something that only becomes common practice or functional in rural areas, what a great example of innovation saving lives and solving a problem for these areas.
By the way, if anyone only watched the first part, go back and watch minutes 19-20.
Thanks for sharing @Josh !
