NFR Level 1 Wildfire alert just issued!

Non-fishing related
Ugh, sorry to hear it.

I was very happy to see those of us on the west side get that day of heavy rain a week or so ago. Made me think we might hold off the worst of it over here.

Just some of the devastation. Winds up to 20 mph from the south, 95degrees, and humidity at 16%. These hills just a few miles from town! If you have ever been in Oroville, the first picture shows the tennis courts at the High School which gives you some perspective as to how close this fire is.

The fire is up on the hillside behind my property. My neighbors that live out there were giving me updates last night. I hope all are staying safe, it looks bad.

Bob, I was afraid it was very close to your place…
It was up on the hillside behind me. A guy with an angle grinder threw sparks in his yard and burned his house down, then it was in Canada in less than three hours. Luckily everything is orchards and irrigated around me. Scary stuff! It’s that time of year… fingers crossed for all the people and homes around Oroville.

Guys, how are you doing over there ? My friend in Sandpoint says the helicopters and tanker planes are using the nearby lakes to scoop and drop.

Hey Roper - thanks for the aerial shot. can you share which bodies of waters those are

Bob - Is this how the Eagle Bluff fire started?

No Roper but anyway, the large lake is Osoyoos. The kidney shaped lake on bottom left is Palmer. Bottom middle is Wannacut with Blue above and to the right of it.
looks like the fire ran right up to the eastern shore of Blue lake before heading north.
