Let's talk life's simple pleasures

Casting flies off my favorite area 9 coho beach in early October. Nasty weather, not a soul around, the smell of fall in the air, and the chance for a big hooknose. God I miss that.

Wide open throttle on a flat Puget Sound, running back to the launch as the sun is starting to set behind me.

Finding the blue water break and spotting albacore boiling on the surface

A perfectly cooked ribeye

When your flatwing feather ties in flat on the first attempt

The feel of driving the hook home with a perfectly executed strip set

A vodka tonic on the front porch on a beautiful September evening

That'd be about a 40 year drought in simple pleasures for me, good thing I'm very happily married and still get "the look" from the wife (who would give me the dope slap upside the head if I referred to her as a "chick").

cheers

A hot shower and an icy cold beer (or glass of lemonade for the nondrinkers) after you finish a long backpacking trip.
I don't drink anymore, but yeah, those first couple sips of a hearty amber ale from a pint glass after long day...

(After that it's all down hill, but those first ones are the best :) )
