I'm going to make the drive there tomorrow. Hope to park about 09:00. Never been, hope it's not windy or to hot. Who's going ? What do i meed to know ? I'll be doing the median in my Fat Cat.

Wind Forecast looks okay. Be prepared for sunny and 80. In my experience the lake usually peaks in late March but it’s been a chilly spring and there should be plenty of fish around. If your schedule allows, maybe try to arrive early or stay until sundown. The heat of the afternoon can be slow fishing. Good luck!

Tic's oh gawd. I'd hope no issues there seeing how ya walk up to the launch.

Watch for snakes and ticks.
Consider wearing sun gloves if you can bring yourself to it.

Ticks - the trail into Lenice is not going to be an issue for ticks, perhaps right lakeside in the brush and grass one would keep an eye out for ticks clinging to waders or float tube.

I wouldn't worry too much about a rattlesnake in the lake if it's coiled up and the water's still in the 40's, they're going to be slow to uncoil and swim and/or climb onto anything.

If the water's warm enough, rattlesnakes can swim, really fast. This time of year, when I'm kicking around in my float tube, I do think about swimming snakes. The snake in the picture above was a good quarter mile from shore in any direction (not Lenice). After I snapped a couple of pictures, I eased my boat away from the snake and it swam towards the cliffs in the distance.

No BS to you Tombraider, snakes exist in the Crab Creek drainage and around the quality lakes. They're really nothing to worry about, just be aware, eyes open.

Have fun.

Yep, if you get in the brush you'll find ticks. I hiked in one time with my super fat cat.
Since I was leg powered and it was super windy, I took out further down the lake and walked back thru the brush up to the trail.
I had multiple ticks clinging to me. I hate those things.....

Wow thnx for tips, will have pistol and will shoot if needed. On that, how safe id parking. On west side, trail heads are break in spots. I'm stoked on fishing east minus the heat.

I've seen two people trying to fight off rattlesnakes intent on climbing on their tube. They are relentless and seem unaffected by a Sage 9' for 5 wt...maybe a Scott would be better?

The pistol might be handy if you plan to fish eastern WA and encounter some pissed off free range cattle…..
Rocks also work well based on past experience.

Without being too hypocritical since I killed a rattlesnake that was two feet from coming into my garage, I will not kill a snake in his domain. I figure man comes second to critters when we're in their home range. Including rattlesnakes.

Have fun.

Not looking for a fight buzzy, but not wanting a bite. May stay a night some place fish again Thursday. How is that other lake.
