Late afternoons in Bend?

Hey y'all. I'll be in Bend for the next two weeks starting this Sunday for work. I think I have my weekend planned out, but would love to get out after work (between about 5 to 8:30-9) as much as I can. I checked out that other Central Oregon thread, and as always you guys are a great resource. If you have any suggestions for after work type spots, my DMs are open, and as some other anglers on this forum can attest to, I'm great at keeping a secret. Thanks in advance. You guys are the best.

Thanks. Despite not living in central Oregon, I've been subscribed to Jeff's fishing reports for years. I'm not really big fan of hiring guides, but I think a day on some stillwater with him would probably be amazing.
 
I'll be in Sunriver for a week starting on June 14th. If you are still in Bend then, I know the some of lakes pretty well if you'd like to meet up for an after work lake outing.

Appreciate the offer. I'll either be taking off on the 14, or the afternoon of the 13th to get back for my kid's baseball tournament.
 
While in Bend for baseball tournaments with my son, I fished near town. Nothing great, but there are fish to be caught. Evening was best. dry fly action to sporadically rising fish. No luck with streamers or nymphs. There is a park just north of town. Spent several nights casting there. Biggest fish was caught right behind the motel. About 15 inch Redside. If you drive out a bit it probably gets better.

Might want to give Hosmer a shot, you're early enough that the full people hatch may not yet be underway.

If you don't want to waste time driving and only have a couple of hours, the river just above Farewell Park (on Reed Market road), or up Century Drive 3 or 4 miles (towards Bachelor), Big Eddy, either upstream or down can be fun, also, just a great trail system to walk.

Have more time? I would recommend the upper river, but be sure to bring the bug spray!!!

Appreciate the intel. You're also the second person to emphasize the use of bug spray on the upper reaches, so I guess it must be no joke up there!

If you're short on time and don't feel like driving after work, you can go after Downtown Brown, they're all over the place in that river. If you want to get away from town it's a short drive for lots of access on the road leading to Mt. Bachelor.
