For the rivers we fish here in SW Washington, cutthroat fishing is nearing its end. As I write this, the rain is falling, and with it, salmon will soon flood into these smaller systems. It's a bittersweet time for me—cutthroat fishing is one of my favorite fisheries, but once the salmon enter, the productivity drops off for cutthroat. Thankfully this last trip was phenomenal, with many small fish caught and a few bigger ones we got footage of. It was an amazing end to what was another off the charts year targeting this species in our local rivers.
That said, I do love coho and chum fishing, and local reports coming in this morning stating it's phenomenal. As we shift our focus to salmon and cutthroat fishing in Puget Sound, I wanted to share one last highlight from earlier this week. We hope you enjoy it!
