Lake Observations

I would think the very nature of covering more ground per cast would give the advantage to stripping in dirty water as well.
And probably bigger flies than anything I would hang under a bobber. There's zero chance I wait around looking at a bobber in murky water.
I used to fish it a fair amount back in the early 90s and all we did in the north end was strip. If I remember correctly, my buddy always started with a big #2 purple leech and ALWAYS out-fished my little #6 or #8 wooly buggers.

Is it still split-pea green?
 
If you're talking about the fly-only lake, it is relatively clear until spring sunshine accelerates algae growth. The pea soup days in recent years have coincided with toxic algae shutdowns.

I often wonder during the green-hued situations how far down the limited visibility goes--I'm thinking below 8-10 feet, the algae lessens significantly. But I've never snorkeled the lake to confirm...
