Those are anglers and license holders according to the wdfw. They have no interest in enforcing snagging. For the record I think snaggers should be driven up the hill a distance of no less than twenty miles, be made to disrobe and forfeit shoes and left.

Good lord !! I lead a sheltered life !!!!! :rolleyes: Or just lucky I guess . In my 76 years on this earth never had to witness that kind of shit while fishing ,and I have spent a lot of time on the water , wading ,and on a lake .
 
Running out of ammo before Helicopter Hole would be a travesty with all the tweakers and Samsquench in those parts

Dare I say the level of play on the hump is that of the skok but with larger budgets and boats. It's disgusting. It's a travesty what salmon and steelhead angling have become in this state. Enjoy the lakes and beaches cause that's the last vestige of actual relaxing fishing.

What is relevant is maintaining my mental health and not subcoming to the competing voices in my head.

Augment that with some Chicago or St. Louis '40's blues ---> I am in a happy, and much needed, place. Using earphones makes it even better because I am not disturbing others.

Totally agree , if someone finds the need for music on a lake or river keep it to themselves with headphones or ear buds .
 
In reality, the only thing we can control is ourselves.

Will we change someone else by confronting them? Probably not..

Will educating someone help? Probably not...

Will getting upset help? Probably not.

Will standing our ground help? Probably not...

Time to move on and find a better peaceful place? Yuppers...
 
Probably my worst experience on a lake is the one near North Bend. Lots of people fishing but not catching. I was doing well tho... I was trolling my favorite DF nymph. Consistent strikes and many were brought to hand. People noticed and started to follow me. Several of the followers were so close they were in my line! Then they got mad and started yelling at me to quit catching their fish. They also got mad because I was releasing them.

I kicked to shore, waved at them, and left. Have not been back since...

My one and only salmon trip to Wauna, I watched 30 "anglers" combat fish a low tide 20 X 30 pool only about 3 feet deep and things were getting U G L Y. Thankfully my more experienced friend redirected us to a much more productive and far less crowded location.

Running a well known charter boat on the ocean I've learned that it's just inevitable. People see one of the All Rivers boats and just assume we must be catching the only fish in the Pacific Ocean so they'd better come park right on top of us.

Nick, I've been leaving the harbor on Mike Harris' boat and have actually heard people ask him "why an All Rivers boat was fishing in the ocean ?"

And yep been on charters where we had a guy show up with his wife and infant kid, no PFD's, in an open 20 ft sled and anchor up right into the anchor swing arc of the charter.
