It has been a long time coming to get back into Manitoba for some Northern Pike fishing. These trips involve a lot of moving pieces and one needs to expect a glitch or two. 6am flight out of Eugene to Denver, then Denver to Sioux Falls where we were picked up at the airport. We then got on the road and headed north, 400 plus miles to Winnipeg. South Dakota was okay, more interesting scenery than North Dakota which looked like this for our whole drive
Sometimes better, and often worse. Things are just drying enough to plow and they were getting after it despite the 95 degree temperatures and 40 mile an hour winds.
Stayed overnight in Winnipeg, 6am flight (03:30 wake up) in a Caravan Amphibious plane.
Once you are north of Winnipeg a couple hundred miles the scenery improves significantly

We were at Kitchi sometime after 0900. This is what they call an outpost. You get dropped off, they drop your supplies and pick you up 7 days later
We had to clean up after the last group upon arrival…had to radio the lodge to let them know the propane leaked at the heater, and needed light bulbs. Can’t believe the last group stayed for a week with gas leak, I shut the gas to the heater off. We still had an oven/stove and fridge that ran on gas.
We emptied the screen porch of trash from the previous 2 groups, cleaned the screens, scrubbed the outdoor table and swept up. They sent bulbs and a handyman with our supplies ( ice, our food, and a $50 15 pack of Labatts Blue per man). Bulbs replaced successfully, no luck with the gas leak. At least we got them to take the trash.
