VanDam was to bass fishing what Tiger was to golf. He was SO dominant for so long. There were a lot of years where it really felt like everyone was fishing for 2nd place before the event even started.

Fish for fun instead of money. Fish with friends instead of always fishing alone. When your tournament fishing you rarely get to fish with friends because you don't want anyone to know where you are. Fish where you want when you want instead of fishing the event schedule.
