Crescent City on the California side of the Oregon/CA border was probably hit the hardest. The way the harbor is configured makes it particularly vulnerable (it was completely destroyed in 2011).

Crescent City was smashed by the tsunami following the big 1964 Alaska earthquake. Not much of the town was spared.

Ironically, we were staying in Crescent City a week ago, and then Cannon Beach for the tsunami a couple of days ago. I think the tsunami was trying to get us. Home safe now.

Easy, both share the Pacific Ocean. Earthquake in the Western Pacific and we are in the Eastern Pacific.
