K Pump Maintenance

I've got a squeaky K pump that I've lived with for a while, but it's gotten to the point where I need to fix it, if not for me, for the sake of anyone within 100 yards of me when I pump the raft up. The squeaking has gotten unbearably loud....

I'm planning on doing some regular maintenance on the pump (which I've never done before ), and will replace the O ring along with some lubrication (hopefully this fixes the squeak).

Curious if anyone has done this before and has any pointers.

Lube the o ring. Should be ok, unless the o ring is torn etc.

Don't lube it with sunscreen!

I got desperate on a multiday float and that was all I had. Just gummed up the works more. Had to tear it all apart after that and start from scratch.

Use a silicone lube on the O-ring.

Yeah! Makes me think this dude floats a lot! My k-pump is 10 years old and still looks new.
