Always wanted to try a cottonwood seed fly. I’ve come across carp slurping the cottonwood on multiple occasions. Heck you could just gather the real stuff and tie it on a hook. Would that be using bait?
I tried to go back and catch one on a cottonwood fly, but they seem to have all gone on vacation. This is what I use as cottonwood seed. Basically just scrap feather material, maybe with a foam post, ginked up a bunch. When they eat on the surface, it looks to me like a miniature Hollywood Bowl just cruising along the foam line.
