SFR I hope this is the end of it!

Sorta fishing-related
Mid 90s yesterday here in the Gorge, about 100 today. Cool nights so closing the windows at 8 has kept the house reasonable(we hit 80 inside this afternoon) without the AC. Unfortunately it looks like the nights get warmer and some humidity is coming so we will probably fire up the AC the next couple days. We rarely used it in the past so we still have the old window mount style units. "Heat Waves" used to run 3 days max, now they are a week. Might have to bite the bullet and upgrade as temps get more extreme.

Everyone okay out there? It's been quiet. Please drink some ice water with a twist of πŸ‹ periodically.

I was just up at the ranch above Oroville for a few days. Temps during the day were high 80s and 90s. Thankfully, the evenings got really cool, one morning I woke up and it was 59 in the house. I had the bedroom windows open all night.

We hit 100 today in North Roseburg; probably done that about a half dozen times this summer. Seems like we have a week of 80's to low 90's followed by a week of 90's to near triple digits. Pretty muggy today so ti will probably stay warm tonight.

Yah…my phone’s forecast lied to me. Was in Glide yesterday for a celebration of life. It hit 100 on our way up Rock Creek. Man…it’s still so depressing seeing Mill Pond looking so desolate.

It takes 2 A/C's to keep this old place around 75 degrees. I slide a frozen ice pack under my GP's hidey to keep her cool.

Remember, even in the hot & dry 80s, Seattle area would get maybe 3 days above 90? We're on 6 or 7 this year.
At least it's not like 22 when we had over a dozen of them. We have AC. We added it about 12 years ago. Wished we would've done it sooner, but I'm sure we needed the money for something else.
Feel terrible for the many folks that don't. Get those swamp coolers going!

For those of us who own home that don't have a/c and want to add it, the Mr. Cool kits are affordable and easy to install.

If you're talking about the mini splits I agree. I installed my own on an outbuilding on my property. You need to know how to safely add a dedicated circuit for it or hire an electrician. Beyond that it's just a bit of layout and the confidence to drill a 3.5in hole through an exterior wall. The exterior tubing kit can be a bit of a PITA to unroll and attach too.

Yep. Probably the slickest and easiest a/c upgrade out there

We'll suck! and so much for hope more 100s on the way!
