SFR I-90

Sorta fishing-related
One house I occupied in Pullman sat on top of a hill, the only way off the hill being a straight shot down the hill with a stop sign along all 3 blocks until you hit the main drag.

One snowy morning I load into my 97 Pontiac grand prix and head to work. As I start the first downhill section it becomes immediately clear that i will not be controlling or slowing my descent at any time. With 3 blind intersections coming I just laid on the horn and prayed. Hit Grand Ave (the main drag) and went all the way to the far curb trying to make my right.

Definitely one of the more nerve wracking driving experiences of my life. Felt like i was gonna get T-boned at every intersection.

i live in Bellingham and love fishing on the Nooksack in the snow. It always blows me away how crazy the hwy to the ski area can be on days like that. It’s seems like people drive more aggressively and faster to get to the powder first. There are always a considerable number of cars stuck on the side of the road and they are almost always the type you would think wouldn’t get stuck (AWD, 4WD).

I hate people riding on my bumper in these conditions and trying to pass. My friends brother has never walked the same since a car made a pass in these conditions and the oncoming traffic made the driver side swipe and force multiple cars off the road into a power pole. The rat race to the outdoors is fucking disgusting. Fuck those assholes. I wish state troopers would write ten thousand dollar tickets on those fucks making passes in blizzards.

I've learned it's best to get off the river by 330 or so in the winter, try and beat the ski parade down the hill.

Is it me or has this been a bad start to the I-90 gateway to the other side...

Few years ago I signed up for WSDOT app and traffic alerts on certain HWYS and I-90 being one. I swear since early November my phone bings every other day alerting me to closures on I-90, some full and others involving multiple lane, accidents, etc. I was dinged this am but didn't really read it, then I saw this...

Now I don't know but I know a few people who live on the other side and they say over the past couple of years that there has been a big turnover in personnel on the road crews and the newer workers don't seem to be as efficient as before (in clearing the hwy and the amount they can clear)
Approximately half my incoming emails detail some problem on I-90 between North Bend & Vantage.........
