A childhood friend recently reminded me of one of my first teenage interactions with a girl:

Naive 13 year old me and him were at the E. Bremerton skating rink playing video games in the arcade when a cute girl came up to me.

“If I give you a hug, will you give me a quarter?”, she asked.

Not thinking I reached into my pocket, found no quarters, pulled out my only bill, and asked “what do I get for $5?”

It was also the first time I was slapped by a girl.

Similar circumstances for me, but with the same outcome. I was likely a bit older and at a dance. A girl I didn't know was trying to collect enough money to get her friend into the dance. When she asked if I had a dollar she could borrow, I replied "I have a dollar you can earn ..."
