I failed as well.
Neither here or there, but 15 months ago I was in Tanzania, and dreading the long flight, I broke out the globe. In ballpark terms (earth isn’t round like a globe, but an oblate spheroid) if you were to drive a rod from Seattle through the center of the earth it would exit just offshore from Zanzibar, our first stop (after Dubai).
BTW, a great trip. If you’re contemplating a safari, I’m confident that I know THE top guide (out of hundreds) and a very pleasant person to spend time with.
