Shop this Black Friday in April and 6 months from now when the garbage is broken, you can buy it again on Black Friday in November.

Harbor freight has cheap paint brushes, I buy em.

It's not just HF doing it. Spring Black Friday is apparently a thing now. Apparently just calling it "Spring Sale" isn't enough.
 
Marketing stuff always makes me cringe...I'm sure AI marketing will be just ducky though.

Hallmark Holidays were bad enough.

If I never have to walk into a store and shop again I'd be overjoyed.
Marry AI technology with marketing...what could go wrong ?

I do have about a 10-year-old sawzall that has never failed me. I went thru a couple of their circular saws in that time frame.

Whole lot of red in finances these days, that sale has to be good enough to get them back in the black
 
Brick and mortar businesses, big and small, are hurting. They can't find enough workers to help out and usually pay shit, or at least not a living wage. So these types of sales don't affect me, they're doing whatever they can to get bodies in the door. I know for me, I prefer to get things online instead of going to big box retailers. I do like to and continue to support the small guys, fly shops and small businesses in general, even if something is a little more expensive.
 
Well somewhere in the C suites of Home Depot (where near as I can tell this shit got started) there's a bunch of shitstains in suits who figured coupling a big sale with Easter and Good Friday would be an idea worth doing...probably thinking that tying in the whole corporeal revenant/ reanimated/ resurrection thing after a winter of slow profits was a winner...but got overruled, so they're just doing it 2 weeks before instead, so nobody gets offended and they somehow miss a dollar was what they decided on.

I work for an ecommerce apparel company that was privately owned but recently sold to a larger company owned by investment firms. Our parent company was hurting so we had a sale to improve the numbers. To please the penny counters we:
Sold a bunch of inventory at 20% off killing our margin but showing sales
Flooded our fairly narrow market with product
Now get to bring in new inventory at 45% higher tariffs, killing our margin
Will have a sale in the fall to get rid of that inventory we didn't sell because the market was flooded, killing our margin

The whole viscous cycle is forked...
 
I'm putting a 25% tarrif on all replies...
50% if you're a dumbass, 75% if you call me a dumbass, and it goes up from there.
Fixing a reply deficit isn't easy, but I'm making replies great again.
